I cried reading why we as kamaaina's had to leave our home, for the majority our stories are very similar, economy is the biggest problem. it hurts to know that we who were born and raised in Hawaii and are of Hawaiian ancestry can not even dream of owning a beautiful home there or owning an awesome vehicle. but I guess it is all the luck of the draw it just irritates me to stand in the check out line at the grocery store(when I go home to visit)and to see the local girl whip out her EBT card and yet on her arm she has a 30mm bracelet and a 30mm on the other I stop to think How the hell? (at least try look like you no can afford the jewelry you know what I mean!)

Our daughters both attended UH with our eldest still at Manoa doing her Masters. We are not Kamaina but our hearts are. For the past several years I have been donating my Digital Photographics to Hula Festivals on the mainland and in Hawai'i to support the Dance and the arts of the Islands.
